If you’re in the market for a compact, powerful and reliable generator; the GL11000 is exactly what you’re looking for.
The GL11000 is our all-purpose, heavy-duty, diesel generator that produces 11,000 watts of power from a liquid-cooled engine.
I know what you’re thinking, powerful diesel generators are noisy. We’re happy to announce that the GL11000 is quieter than its predecessor, the Original Low Boy. It’s also one of the quietest generators in its class.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Kubota GL11000 generator:
Operating the GL11000
All Kubota generators to be easy to operate. The GL11000 has a keyed electric start and comes complete with batteries so it’s good to go out of the box.
Everything you need to keep an eye on is easily accessible on the front of the unit. You can see the air and oil pressure while running, you have all of your connectivity ports, and there’s a convenient handle to open the front panel.
It’s a compact unit, but you have easy access to the oil, coolant drain extensions, oil gauge, oil filter, oil refill port, fuel filter, water reserve tank, battery, and air filter/cleaner via the side entrance.
You can buy our generator maintenance kits here. Which includes oil, air, and fuel filters, and 1 gal of oil.
Safety First
As with all heavy machinery, safety is top of our priorities as we’re sure it is for you too.
The GL11000 has protective covers over all of the moving parts. This means you can’t injure yourself by touching it while it’s in operation. It also helps protect against debris and other loose items interfering with it while it’s in operation.
The generator will also automatically shut off if the water temperature rises excessively, or if the oil pressure drops below a safe level.
Power Output
There are two things most people demand from a generator; power and reliability.
Both of these elements are covered with the GL11000. This model features a premium Kubota D722, 3 cylinders, 18.9 HP engine. It’s diesel-fueled, liquid-cooled, and runs at 3,600 RPM generating 11 kW (11kVA) 60 Hz of standby power.
When used continually, this generator generates 9.9 kW prime power with a primary voltage of 120/240 VAC, single-phase, 60 Hertz.
The Pros of Using Diesel-Powered Generators
As already mentioned, the GL11000 is a diesel-powered generator. The main reasons why diesel is the best type of fuel for a generator like this one is:
It’s cost-efficient – Diesel performs well on efficiency and cost. Diesel does cost more than gas, but it generates more power per the same volume than gas does.
Longer life expectancy – Diesel-powered machinery in general is expected to last longer than gas engines. This means, the more you use your generator and the longer you own it, the better your return on investment is.
Easier to maintain – Diesel engines are typically easier to maintain and require less maintenance. This also increases the return on investment over the life of the generator.
Safer – Diesel is less flammable than other fuels. They also do not use spark plugs and ignite the duel in the way as gas, making them less of a fire risk too.
